By Road
The house is easy to reach from the A9 – the main road from Perth up into the Highlands. Exit the A9 at the Blair Atholl turn, just by the snowgates at the southern end of the Drumochter Pass. If you are heading from the South, turn right at this exit and then, right again on the B8079 toward Blair Atholl. From the North, you turn left from the A9.
You’ll first enter Bridge of Tilt, passing the petrol station on your left. About 200m after the petrol station, you’ll turn right. The road is signposted for Old Bridge of Tilt, Monzie and Glen Fender.
After 0.5 mile you’ll arrive at Old Bridge of Tilt – it’s the first village you’ll come to. As you enter the village, turn left (you’ll see a brown tourist sign for Glen Tilt) and immediately right into Wades Bridge Road. It’s a small cul-de-sac. If you arrive at the old bridge over the road you know you have missed it!
As you drive into the cul-de-sac, Glen Tilt House is the second house on the left. You’ll see a 5-bar gate which you can open and then a long drive with a double garage.
By Rail
There is a station in Blair Atholl but you’ll need to pre-arrange pick up from there as there is no taxi rank. Most Scotrail trains and the Caledonian Sleeper stop in Blair Atholl. Pitlochry station is in the centre of the town and there is a taxi rank. All trains stop in Pitlochry, including the LNER service from London.
